I work with an expanded form of drawing which is responsive to space, integrating printmaking, painting and sculpture. Adopting a playful and attentive approach to line, colour and context, I create drawings which extend over multiple surfaces, from paper, to wood, to the architecture of the gallery itself. This method of expanded drawing embraces uncertainty as a necessary condition for improvisation and discovery.

The lightweight structures I make are designed to be easily disassembled and transported, at times following a modular structure that can be reordered and adapted to different environments. Paper offers a responsive surface to work with, carrying line and colour, but also texture and form as I bring it into contact with wood and magnets. These supporting structures are made visible, instigating conversations between the work’s material components. In turn, the gallery setting is changed, as artworks gently intervene and occupy space. 

Many of the artworks I create take their titles from terms used in cartography, including phrases which describe approximates for aspects of the landscape which are not as easily defined, such as changing water lines. In the making and unmaking of these structures I see myself as undertaking an open-ended form of mapping that exists somewhere on the boundary of planning and spontaneity. 

I have previously been artist-in-residence at R-Urban an eco-civic hub located in Poplar, London (May - July, 2025). Prior to, and alongside the Masters in Fine Art programme at City & Guilds, I have worked in environmental and climate change sectors, informing my interest in landscapes, mapping and environmental change.
